Captain`s Place in Acushnet

Cozy little place! The inside is so appealing. My Boston baked scrod was amazing and the portion was big. My bartender was super friendly too. Definitely worth visiting and even worth it to make a special trip

Very good! I had the steak Mozambique (cooked perfectly) and my wonderful lady had the Captain's Seafood (swordfish, littlenecks, shrimp, scallops & linguica 😋). Our first time there and it won't be our last!! THANK YOU, Captain's Place, Well done!!!!

Great staff & awesome food. Delicious Portuguese & American cuisine. We go there for family dinners with the kids as well as a special night out and have always enjoyed it.

If I could give this place no stars I would, I've been coming here for years but just recently food quality is declining, i dont know If it's the cooks that have no idea what their doing but we've gotten 3 rotten baked haddock that smells straight like ammonia, how doesnt the cooks smell it when their cooking it, idk beats me. We also just recently gotten 5 soups and found around 6-10 big vertebra bones and small broken off sharp slivers. Eat at your own risk of getting sick or stabbed by bones the cooks were to lazy to take out after making the broth.

Great food! Visited from California and it was the freshest seafood.

Haven't actually been in a while but did have some food catered at work and was pretty good. Don't really have much to go on. I know I used to enjoy going for a steak sandwich and fries or chicken Mozambique. Don't know if those are still as good as they used to be. Prices for those were reasonable.

Great food and wonderful desserts. Good selection. Very busy on the weekends so plan accordingly.

Some employees wearing masks and the girl behind bar wears no mask when serving customers. If can’t wear a mask while serving the customers, than why are they working . It’s the owner’s responsibility to make sure Protocol is taken.

Great food & drinks. Relaxed atmosphere.

Ordered my steak medium, but it was cooked well done with a side of canned vegetables. My meal came out first so my wife had to wait another 10 minutes before she got her food. The waitress offered to bring a pitcher of ice water, but it never arrived. We had to wait another 15 minutes before she brought us the check. Lastly, the bathroom was dirty and smelled like urine, that’s usually an indication that the kitchen is probably unsanitary also.

Excellent food. The owner knows the customers by name. Limited beer selection. Huge selection of genuine Portuguese dishes. Large portions. I highly recommend.

The Mozambique is really good here! Definitely consider trying that or something on the specials board (:

They have Portuguese food and specials like rabbit stew ,goat .wild boar etc.

I had a steak Mozambique. Food was good and fast friendly service. I got there around 145pm, so it was not a very busy time.

Took my lady there last night for dinner and the service was extremely slow. I'm a patient guy in General, but waiting 15min for a drink order is no bueno. Food wasn't anything great either. Waste of $50.

Came here for the first time. I got the surf and turf plate. It was delicious, and the service was good, my date got the junior steak and didn’t eat much as she claimed her steak was mostly fat, but enjoyed the rest of her dinner. Overall I was pleased and would return eventually.

My steak had no sauce to lap up with bread. In regards to thier bread! They bring one pathetic portugese pop sliced for two people to share! Other portugese restaurant give you a basket of bread...so selfrespecting pordgie would like that. ):Besides thier wasn't any sauce on my steak. Porta on Westport that is worthit!

Service was good. The food was very bland considering it is a Portuguese restaurant.. Very disappointed..

Steak tip salad a no go, small serving of steak & it was not tips. It was 5 baby pieces of steak on a heaping bed of salad. Very Disappointed Especially I get out of the gym. Last time I do business here. You should too. Update: it’s very chewy like steak & not tender like Steak Tips.

Excellent food FRIENDLY service great place for Portuguese food and wine prices are not bad at all great restaurants in the area. WOULD recommend this place as the best of the best in Portuguese and seafood

Just came for the 2nd time and I can say the first time wasn’t the greatest. They definitely made us change our mind. We did take out and I can say we are very satisfied this time around!
